At 8:30am yesterday at our Brother Gilbert Donavan was seriously injured and remains in critical condition at UCSD Hospital after a life threatening car accident. He remains in critical condition with his wife Catalina by his side. The family is asking for prayers for our beloved brother Gilbert as he fights for his life.
In partnership with the management team at SDG&E, the leadership of his union (IBEW 465) and with permission from his wife Catalina we have launched this GoFundMe in order to assist the family in their time of need. With uncertain and difficult times ahead it is important to let his family know that they are not alone and so many of us love our brother Gilbert Donavan.
Gilbert was hired at San Diego Gas & Electric in November 2002 and after completing a 4 year apprenticeship became a High Voltage Substation Electrician. Shortly after becoming an IBEW Electrician he also became a Shop Steward in his Union and entered into the Relay Technician training program. He joined the Management team at SDG&E in January and is an essential member of the leadership team at Kearny.
At the center of Gilbert and his wife Catalina's life is their 11 year old Daughter Grace who they love dearly. In their free time they love spending time at their Church, at Disneyland and traveling together as a family.
