It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of our beloved Gilbert Acosta. Our family is utterly devastated by this sudden loss. As always, Gilbert was a fighter and he continued to fight until his final moments. We remember Gilbert as the kind, loving and generous father, brother, husband and friend that he was. Gilbert loved life, he was a lover of mariachi and Tejano among other music. He was a huge fan of old Western movies. Gilbert always rooted for his LA Dodgers and was a Raiders fan through and through. Gilbert enjoyed spending time with his family and every holiday was very special for him. Gilbert leaves behind his loving wife Yolanda and his Daughter Erica.

Gilbert was on born February 25, 1945 and grew up in Calipatria, Ca. Raised by his two parents Jose & Ernestina Acosta. Gilbert was a imperial valley native, played football for Calipatria High School then continued after at Imperial Valley Collage. Gilbert had a illustrious boxing career, and always represented his beloved Imperial Valley both in and out of the wrong. In 1990 Gilbert married his wife Yolanda, and five years later they had their daughter Erica.

We mourn the loss of our beloved Gilbert and ask our Family, friends, and community to help us with Gilberts final preparations and services. We truly appreciate any and all help we can get in these difficult times.
