Hello friends & family,

Gil Gillespie, my cherished husband, and father, stepfather, grandfather and brother, passed away after a short battle with cancer on August 5th 2022. We, his family, and friends, miss him desperately and have set up this page as a way for family, friends, and everyone who knew Gil, to remember him. We are all heartbroken without him, and are left with a void that can never be filled.

As well as being a fine craftsman, he will be remembered by many as Gil Gillespie, the singer songwriter and musician, who was played on Radio Wales, and Radio Pembrokeshire, and performed at music venues around West Wales and beyond.

Before his death, we had spoken about receiving donations instead of having flowers, towards Meddygfa Emlyn Surgery, (our local GP’s surgery) in Newcastle Emlyn, when he passed away.

When Gil expressed to our GP’s that he wanted to die at our home, they did all that they could to make that possible, and was most fortunate to have such wonderful end of life care, provided by our local surgery.

The District Nurses worked closely with the GP’s, and the care they all showed us was compassionate and empathetic, as well as providing the practical nursing care he required, together with the medical support from the GP’s, during their regular weekly visits to our home.
