Hi, my name is Susan and I'm fundraising to help cover my cat Gigi's veterinary bills.

Last month my beautiful, intelligent, self-confident cat Gigi was diagnosed with a rare cancer that ultimately took her life. Gigi was an undeniably special soul and enchanted everyone who had the opportunity to spend time with her.

Normally, I wouldn't be asking for your help to cover the cost of Gigi's care but it has completely wiped out the savings I had built up before becoming unemployed due to the pandemic. As a result, I am unable to pay next month's rent and the nearly $900 monthly premium on my health insurance, which was canceled this past week. I had carefully budgeted to make it through the pandemic but did not anticipate thousands of dollars in veterinary bills.

Gigi's cat buddy, Hera, and I are still living in the same apartment but I don't know how I'll be able to continue to care for her (and myself, frankly) if we get evicted.

My goal is to recoup the money I paid for Gigi's veterinary bills so that I can pay my rent and perhaps, depending on the success of this fundraiser, get my health insurance reinstated.

The timing probably couldn't be worse due to the holidays, but maybe it's perfect, as I know that I used to do a lot of year-end giving when I had the ability.
