Help GiGi in Her Fight Against Uterine Cancer
Beschermde donatie
I am fundraising for my mother, GiGi who is currently battling a rare and aggressive form of Uterine/Endometrial Cancer called Serous Carcinoma. My mom is a quirky, fun-loving, a tad bit eccentric, extremely talented artist and musician who loves animals and gives glory to God every second of every day. As anyone who has met my mom knows; her favorite farewell phrase is “Peace & Blessings!”
My mother’s unfortunate battle began in January, 2021 when she noticed post-menopausal bleeding. After months of uncertainty, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Endometrial Cancer and underwent a full hysterectomy in June, 2021. By August of that year, she was declared cancer free and we started making plans to move her from New York to Colorado so she could be with her four grandchildren and her family that loves her.

Unfortunately, after several months and before she could complete her move, her bleeding returned and a massive tumor was discovered in her pelvis. After rounds of both chemotherapy and radiation, her resistant tumor did not respond as well as doctors had hoped. While they managed to stop it from spreading to anywhere else in the body, the tumor did not shrink. Although the doctors do believe cancer cells are dying, their best course of action is to attempt to remove the entirety of the tumor as soon as my mother’s immune system will allow. The surgery will be extensive and complex and is expected to last several hours due to the size and placement of the tumor as well as the pressure it is placing on both her bladder and colon. A partial colectomy may also be needed.
We are hoping to raise funds for multiple purposes; to assist my mom in paying her monthly bills as she awaits disability approval, to help pay for my travel and lodging expenses from Colorado to New York as I support my mom during her fight, and lastly, to provide the extra funds necessary to move my mom to Colorado so she can be surrounded by her family once her oncologist determines she is medically able to do so.

Our sincere hope is to get my mom back to doing the things she loves most in this world; playing her congas, painting and drawing, and spending time with her loved ones.

Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your prayers, donations, and generosity. We are beyond grateful!
