Hello, my name is Bobby Zouvelos and I have started this GoFundMe campaign for a dear friend of mine, Elizabeth Tyler. Elizabeth urgently needs emergency oral surgery. She is currently unable to chew solid food, has difficulty speaking, and her overall health is deteriorating due to severe gum disease and ongoing infections. The pain and discomfort she experiences every day have had a profound impact on her quality of life. She needs treatment as soon as possible to stop the infections, restore her ability to eat, speak comfortably and begin her road to recovery.

SUMMARY

Elizabeth urgently needs to raise funds for a complex emergency oral surgery that her specialists have advised cannot be delayed.

The surgery will involve the removal of the six remaining teeth in her upper jaw, extensive bone grafting, jaw reconstruction, titanium implants, and the placement of a temporary upper dental prosthesis, followed by permanent teeth after healing.

This is not a cosmetic procedure. It is medical necessity.

Elizabeth is living with advanced periodontal (gum) disease, chronic oral infections, severe TMJ disorder, severe bruxism (teeth grinding), and Rheumatoid Arthritis. These conditions have severely damaged her mouth and jaw and the ongoing infections are now affecting her overall health.

Her oral surgeons have warned that the chronic infections are weakening her immune system and are now impacting her blood pressure and heart. They have advised that this surgery is urgently required.

Elizabeth's Medical Journey

Elizabeth has faced an extraordinary series of medical challenges over the years. After being diagnosed with Graves' disease, she was diagnosed with breast cancer just two months later. She underwent a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. The Graves disease and her cancer treatments contributed to the beginning of her teeth loosening which led to severe dental deterioration and advanced periodontal disease over the next several years.

Since then, she underwent a hysterectomy, diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and later learned that her breast implants had been nationally recalled requiring several major reconstructive surgeries.

During this time, she underwent a series of dental procedures in an effort to save her teeth. Unfortunately, these procedures were unsuccessful, and her dental condition continued to worsen, resulting in significant dental trauma. Despite ongoing treatment, her condition progressively deteriorated.

Today, chronic oral infections are affecting her overall health and she urgently requires reconstructive oral surgery to restore her health, oral function and improve her quality of life. Because of her condition, Elizabeth can no longer eat solid food comfortably. Speaking has become difficult, and the pain and damage have taken a toll.

Elizabeth is a Breast Cancer survivor who has overcome one medical issue after another as she now finds herself fighting for her health once again.

The Surgery She Needs

Her treatment plan will include:

Full upper jaw (maxillary) tooth extractions.

Complete upper jaw reconstruction with titanium implants.

Regenerative bone grafting materials.

All necessary bone graft procedures.

Temporary implant-supported prosthesis.

Laboratory technician support during surgery.

Upper arch prosthesis with abutment placement.

Placement of permanent teeth approximately 4–6 months after healing.
