Gifts of Hope for Austin and Christi

Dear family and friends, 

Many of you are aware that the past two years have been very difficult for my brother, Austin, and my sister-n-law, Carla (Christi) Walters.  After Austin had a major shoulder injury while working on the job, he endured two surgeries and experienced a long recovery, which ultimately led to him losing his job due to worker’s comp releasing him from coverage.  Austin was then left with needing to change career paths completely and began pursuing a career in biomagnetism wellness.  Simultaneously, Christi was also switching career paths and working on launching her own fashion business.  They have since been utilizing their savings without insurance coverage until Austin can again be gainfully employed and Christi’s company can generate adequate revenue. 

When they were just beginning to get their head above water with all of these changes, they were faced with one of the hardest trials imaginable.  In early August 2020, physical problems arose for Christi in the form of major vaginal blood loss, throwing up, and sweats, which ultimately led Austin to rush her to the ER on August 12th.  She had to be hospitalized while many tests were conducted to determine the problem.  Through the series of tests and doctor visits they discovered she has an invasive form of cervical cancer.  This has been nothing short of devastating and heartbreaking for them to face, especially while being uninsured and with neither one fully employed. 

Many people are asking how they can help.  Two tangible ways are by committing to pray for them, because we know God has the power to heal Christi and provide encouragement and hope.  Another way is by donating gifts of hope, financially.  We are believing that God will show up in a mighty way through this online fundraiser and that He will provide all of their needs through each person who feels led to give.  As you can imagine, there is urgent need for assistance, with any raised funds going directly toward Christi’s uninsured cancer treatment, medical bills, groceries, and living expenses.  In the interim, Austin is placing his career on hold while focusing on being Christi’s primary caregiver and seeking the very best care he can secure for Christi.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide in helping Austin and Christi.  In this way, your generosity to pour out the love of Christ will be a monumental blessing not only for them, but will be a powerful  testimony to many.
