Gregory J. Gamp, Sr. died on 11/26/24. One of the most consistently amazing things about my dad was his quiet generosity towards my students and clients.
After hearing a story about about one of the kids, it would not be unusual for something to show up on my doorstep - a favorite toy that our family's kiddos had played with and loved, a shaving kit for a teen, a scientific calculator for a STEM nerd. (Once he and Mom sent a case of duffel bags to make sure EVERY kiddo at my foster agency had a travel bag instead of trash bags.)
Dad similarly sent donations to other friends and families who work with kids, and to several other organizations in support of families in need.
We called Dad The Big Daddy, and he was that to friends and family who needed a safe space. His example of acceptance and generosity is one that we strive to emulate every day.
Thank you for keeping his memory alive by helping us continue to give that right gift at the right time to a kiddo in foster care, experiencing homelessness, or living with some other special need.
If you would like a donation receipt for a 501(3)(c) please leave a private message below so that I can reach out to you directly. I work at SierraChildandFamilyServices.org, and am affiliated with several other youth -serving agencies in Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, El Dorado, and San Joaquin Counties.
