Gift Tony His Dream Chair for His 60th
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
We’re reaching out today to ask for your help in commemorating Tony’s 60th year in a truly meaningful way.
Tony is in immediate need of an electric wheelchair. Since 2021, he has been struggling with a wheelchair company that has failed to deliver a chair because of their ineptitude and neglect. It’s been a frustrating experience for all of us. That’s three years without his independence and mobility, limiting his ability to travel easily, visit downtown Berkeley to shop and eat, or spend a day at the park with his dog, Rhythm. Without an electric chair, he requires assistance whenever he goes out.
We want to change that immediately.
Let’s work together to give Tony the best birthday gift ever!
This is where you all come in. With your support, we can get Tony the chair of his dreams. This lightweight, innovative electric chair represents a breakthrough in chair technology and design. There is nothing like this chair on the market, just as there is no one quite like Tony.
The chair itself resembles a sports chair rather than a bulky piece of medical equipment. Its battery is similar to that of an e-bike, making it portable, lighter, and less obtrusive. The frame is significantly lighter as well, compared to traditional electric wheelchairs, which can be impossibly heavy. The wheels are easily interchangeable for varied terrain like roads, snow and sand and they are quick-release for ease in travel. All of these unique features and more make this chair truly special.
Even cooler, this remarkable chair was conceived and designed by a fellow quadriplegic, whom Tony was introduced through High Fives and whom is also a former skier. It’s a perfect chair for individuals like Tony who thrive on being mobile and truly engaging in the world. Currently, only 10 of these chairs are being made, and with your help, Tony will be one of the recipients. They will be building it to his needs and specifications, totally custom for Tony.
The cost of $16,000 will not only cover the build, but also travel to Vancouver, BC and Denver for the fitting of the chair and specialized seating tailored to his quadriplegic needs. None of which is covered by insurance, nor state or federal aid.
This chair is his dream chair. He has dreamed of a chair like this for 40 years and it just so happens to have been created and produced just in time for his 60th. We believe this was meant to be.
Thank you for your support, continued love and fulfilling a 60th birthday wish for someone we all love.
