Gift of warmth and education to kids in Nepal

As many of you know, I'm originally from Nepal, born and raised and I went through the education system there myself. Although, I was fortunate enough to go to a good school, not many kids there have this opportunity. A lot of villages and parts of Nepal still live in high poverty and Damauli’s public school is no different. My mother lives and teaches in the small public school in Damauli, where winter bites through threadbare sweaters and pencils are a luxury, I witnessed a silent struggle. My mother, a teacher with a heart woven from sunshine, saw it every day - children with ambitions as high as the Himalayas, held back by poverty's cruel grip.

These kids dream of escaping their village, of college degrees and better lives for their families. But their public school, starved of resources, can barely offer desks. Books are treasures, worn with love and passed down. My mom would always share her stories with me, telling me that kids show up to school without backpacks or get through winter without having proper clothes to wear. She tries to support as much as she can with her salary as a teacher but she can only do so much.

After having long conversations with her, I suggested that I would try to raise some funds for her students here in the US and send it back so that the students can have proper materials for school and enough to buy nice sweaters for winters. With all this, our hopes is to support the future of our country and try to give these kids a chance at a good life while they're studying to chase their dreams.

**Just $5 buys a backpack, $7 a warm sweater.** A small step for you, a giant leap for the children. By giving these students the tools they need, we plant seeds of hope, not just for their education, but for the future of Nepal itself.

All of the money raised will be sent directly to my mother Suna, who will work with the school to buy necessary school supplies and clothes for the students.
