Grayson is a 9-year-old full-time wheelchair user. He was born with medical complexities stemming from his spina bifida myelomeningocele and hydrocephalus.
As his parents, we've done our best to make the world accessible to him. He is very active in adaptive sports (wheelchair basketball, adaptive baseball, and track/field). He's even tried surfing, archery, rock climbing, sled hockey, and horseback riding! We do our best to provide Grayson with opportunities that all able-bodied kids have.
Grayson makes it easy to want to open the world to him. He is kind and empathetic. He is polite and practices compassion towards others. He is always willing to help. Last year, he won the Sportsmanship Award for both his wheelchair basketball and wheelchair racing teams!
Recently, he was given the opportunity to try an adult-sized Grit Chair. He loved it! We'd love to be able to get him a Grit Junior. With the GRIT Junior, he can join friends and family on hikes, beach trips, park outings, and much more!
Help us bring Grayson the gift of opportunity by donating and sharing his story. No matter the amount, it all goes toward an amazing kid who brings joy to everyone he encounters.
