Study hard, Dance harder

I always did not like to celebrate my birthday, and I did not like the birthday gifts, but this year is different, it's my 30th birthday, on the 4th of June. I would love to celebrate with friends, beloveds, folks, comrade, and dreamers. Those who believe in freedom, who believe in social justice, who believe in human dignity, who believe in Human rights, and who believe in the right for everyone to get education.
Even if we are in different places, even if we never met before, we can celebrate and dance to stick to hope, dreams, support each other, fight, and learn together.
My learning journey has been rich working collectively with you. Before I left my home country in 2017 and until my exile. I hold a Bachelor in Law, and a Diploma in Civil Society and Human Rights from Cairo University. I studied and was mentored at the Coady International Institute and was awarded certificates in governance, transparency, and accountability, community facilitation and youth leadership. I was a fellow of a Lazord fellowship for civic leadership in Egypt and co-founded a community development organisation in the American University in Cairo 2013-2014. I have been working in civil society since 2008 and helped to co-found and manage different youth NGOs, spaces and movements, theatre, in my neighbourhood and around Egypt, and the MENA region. However, I had to leave my home because of personal security reasons. Since I have arrived to Denmark, I have worked and volunteered in many Danish organisations related to youth activism, gender equality, integration, inclusion, and social entrepreneurship..etc
Now, I am in my THIRD semester in a master's degree in Global Studies and International Development Studies, at Roskilde University in Denmark, and the next semester will be my graduation. I am working on the topic related to social movements and its leadership. However, I have to pay full tuition fees for my education, and there is no scholarship for non-European students, so if I do not pay the fees, they will dismiss me from the program and cancel my residency visa. I was lucky and able to pay all the tuition fees for all the previous semesters, but I can't pay the tuition fees for the last semester.
So, I would like to celebrate and get my birthday gift this year from you, and it's not just a gift, but in the current world it's a lifetime gift. I will be safe for six more months. And I will be able to get my master’s degree and graduate, you can participate through:
First: Support me to raise 8000 Euro before first of August 2021, to be able to pay the last semester tuition fees (4250 Euros) and my educational and living expenses ( Fieldwork, Research, Accommodation… etc). I am allowed to work specific amount of time that can not fully support me and cover my expenses and tuition fees; therefore, I will be able to focus on my graduation thesis - we will not stop demanding “Free Education For Everyone“-
Second: Dance with me on my birthday - that should happen all the time -
If I stay alive and free until my 40’s birthday, my gift to myself will be: that I will help with the same amount of money that I got for my 30’s birthday to a Human right defender or more who are in danger, or risk of being deported.
Please feel free to share it within your network, and contact me if you have any questions.
Love & Peace,
Ehab
