Gift for Gabby
Gabby is eleven years old. She is the daughter of a very close friend Aileen. She is your typical girl who loves Taylor Swift, strawberry pancakes, and Anime. She is kind, smart and sweet. She draws, plays basketball and the piano. Last Saturday, she complained of a very bad headache and was rushed to the hospital. She had a brain bleed from a ruptured AVM (arteriovenous malformation). Gabby had an emergency craniotomy and repair of the AVM. She was on life support and was in the ICU. A day after surgery, she was able to open her eyes. A few hours later, she was extubated and the first words that came out of her mouth was asking the nurse, " am I a good patient?", "are the doctors proud of me?" She is now able to sit up(with a lot of help) but she still can't move her left side fully. Even though she is in so much pain, she never once complained. She does what she is told to do to get better. This brave girl is a fighter. But she can't do it alone. She needs our help towards her long recovery. Her dad was in the Philippines when this happened because her grandfather passed away and had to take care of her very sick grandmother. Her family has been through a lot. We are appealing to your generous heart to help Gabby and her family through this most difficult challenge in their lives. Any amount goes a long way. Thank you.
