Help Dante & Family on their Brain Tumor Journey

Hi, my name is Carmen and with many others we have been fundraising for Danté and his family.

Danté is a fun loving 16 year old boy who was taken to hospital by his family because he was having constant headaches and dizziness. In May this year he was admitted to hospital and after undergoing an MRI his family were devastated that the MRI showed that their beautiful boy has a brain tumor and they now have to face their biggest life challenge. Danté is a strong boy and his family believe that he will get through this and anyone that knows him believes the same.  

Danté  was admitted short time after this for surgery to have his brain tumor removed.  The surgery was long and quite an intensive operations that took the surgeons hours.  Whilst the doctors could not guarantee that they removed all of the tumor they were hopeful that the result was very positive.  

The next phase of Dantés journey was about to commence.  Danté started on radiation which was going to help towards his fight and on August 3rd Danté completed 30 days of radiation.  Everyone was so proud ... Danté got to ring the bell at Charles Gairdener Hospital, the bell that all  Cancer Clinic patients get to ring when they successfully complete the whole phase of radiation.

Danté  continues to fight and to give it his best.  As you can imagine the families world has been turned upside down and this challenge is far from over.


After the radiation Danté rested up to prepare his body for the next phase of his fight with what lay ahead, four months worth of chemo.  On September 8th was his first day of Chemotherapy.  Danté had good and bad days with nausea, vomiting and lethargy, all on going side affects post Radio therapy.  The bad days got worse with chemo but he is hanging in there and doing his best like a champ.

Danté and his mum are staying a the hospital 5 days straight each week while his siblings are still at home with dad and their grandmother.  The endless trips to the hospital and the constant time off work continued. 


All the family asks is that we keep Danté in our thoughts throughout this challenging journey and for those of you that have faith to keep him in your prayers.

The family are local to Lower Chittering. This locality is known for being a strong and supporting community and along with the IHC Community this is where WE, as the extended family and community can band together and help this family throughout this unexpected journey.

I myself, along with many of us in the community have children of our own and many of us cant imagine what they are going through so we have started a GoFundMe account so that we can show Danté and his family how much we care and believe that he can beat this!

NB ... The beneficiary of this GoFundMe page is Dantés mum, Kimberly Campbell and all funds raised are going towards helping Danté and his  family during this difficult time.  We hope the funds raised will help with any out-of-pocket health expenses and the costs associated of having a loved one in a hospital over an hours drive from home.  There are also costs associated in having 4 other children.  Normally Kimberly and Gabriel work hard to ensure that their families needs are met but at the moment they are unable to work so these funds help take the pressure off and allow them to be there for Danté and his 4 siblings.  Please continue to support the family while Danté commences the next phase of his journey, the treatment phase, during which his parents support is important.  Thank you for your continued support!
