Gidget's Vet Bills
Gidget is our two and a half year old Pomeranian we recently got from a breeder. She is an energetic , cute, and an overall sweetheart.
We decided to go with a breeder as we wanted a doggie that would go well with our kitten Dexter and had a known history. When we met Gidget we fell in love instantly, she was everything we wanted in a dog, sweet, calm, affectionate and with just the right amount of playful energy.
Things were ok at first, until we realized that she hadn't been properly vaccinated... We found out when we took her to get groomed and the vaccination history didn't say anything about rabies. We were annoyed but decided to just have her go to the vet and get vaccinated for rabies. When the doctor looked at her "chart" he also noticed that she didn't have her bordatella vaccine, so I had to make the decision on which vaccine to give her first. We went with rabies.
About a week later she started having coughing fits and we took her to the vet only to find out she got Bordatella, also known as "kennel cough".
They gave us some meds and sent her home, but as the weeks went by she got progressively worse and worse even as far as getting a high fever twice. We took her to another vet for a second opinion and found out her kennel cough had turned into a throat bacterial infection and viral bronchitis.
She's gotten better and then progressivally worse and her vet bills keep on rising. So far we have spent $645 and it just seems to be going up from there. We are asking $1000 as her follow up visits to the vet usually run about $120-$183 a visit depending on if she has contracted a fever or if her lymph nodes are swollen. So far she's had two fevers and her lymph nodes have swollen up quite severly.
My husband and I are from a one income home and I am trying to get my business going, so money is very very tight right now. We love our little doggie and we want her to get better and back to her energetic happy self, but we need help and any help we get we would be very grateful for. We just want her to get better.
All and any money we recieve in this Gofundme will be going towards her vet bills and getting her better.
