It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that our precious friend 55 year old Gwen Sanders has been fighting pancreatic cancer that has now unfortunately spread to her liver leaving no treatment options remaining.
The Sanders family is well known on the Sunshine Coast and have many friends. Both of their daughters graduated from Elphinstone Secondary. They are a hard working proud family, Gwen worked at Saan store in Gibsons and has been at Direct Disposal in Sechelt for many years. Bill, her husband of 30 yrs also served the community for quite some time coaching girls soccer. Gwen has always been a positive, compassionate fun loving person, she loves nothing more than spending time with her husband and friends outdoors by a fire just sharing a laugh! Bill has been dedicated and loving to Gwen, caring for her as long as he could at home and continues to work as a traffic flagger on The Sunshine coast but has been unable to work regularly for many months. Unfortunately this has put a financial strain on their family. Reluctantly he has now agreed to accept help. One of Gwen's young daughters resides out of country and has had to endure costly flights back to the Sunshine Coast in order to see her mom. We are thankful that Gwen has both of her daughters by her side at this time.
It is our hope that we can make this impossible situation a bit easier for this family by assisting with compounding expenses and future inevitable costs that will be incurred.
