Gibson’s Cancer Battle

Hi everyone,
This is Gibson. He is a one and a half year old chocolate lab that has completely changed our lives. From the moment we laid our eyes on him we knew he was something special. From his heart melting snuggles, to his goofy facial expressions, and even his crazy playfulness, he truly brightens our every day.
Unfortunately, after multiple biopsies, and endless testing, our world was turned upside down when we were informed that our sweet baby boy has a tumor classified as a rhabdomyosarcoma. This is a rare but aggressive form of cancer found in dogs under two years of age. Without treatment, we have been told that we may only have 4-6 months left with him. My heart breaks writing this and we can’t imagine a life without him in it. We know that dogs don’t get to live as long as humans do but we know Gibson still has so much life to live. So we are coming to you all for help!
Our next step in this process is to have X-rays done to see if/how far this cancer has spread through out his body. If it hasn’t spread, we have been given the option of treating Gibson via radiation and chemotherapy. This would mean daily radiation alongside weekly chemotherapy for 4 weeks. We have have been told in the best case scenario this could give us an additional three years. While I would do anything in the world to save him, if it is going to decrease his quality of life that is not a risk we are willing to take. This will cost us between $15,000-$18,000. So if you or someone you know has gone through this please give us your advice!
Most importantly, if you or anyone you know has any recommendations at all please let us know! We are looking for all the info/advice we can get. Whether it be oncologist/HOLISTIC vet recommendations or natural treatments and remedies. We are open to anything that will buy us some more time!
Lastly, we are in quite deep with bills already and it’s only just begun. Our pet insurance(NATIONWIDE), has dropped us and refuses to cover any of our expenses thus far. If you could contribute towards our fight to save Gibson, it would be appreciated more than you know. The goal we have set is a low end estimate of what we feel would cover costs to date and future treatment(although there’s is no telling what expenses could arise). If it turns out to be more than needed we will donate the excess to an organization for canine cancer research and let you all know once that is done. If you can’t contribute, or haven’t been through this(which we pray that you haven’t) PLEASE SHARE THIS!!! Hopefully, through sharing this we can find a way to save our baby. We aren’t giving up on him and we need all the help we can get!
