Gianna Cursi & Gabe Medina Fire Relief Fund

Story

Hi, my name is Rachel Schlesinger; I work with Gianna Cursi at SEEDS Therapy Center, where we support people with disabilities with navigating healthy relationships.   Yesterday, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, Gianna, her boyfriend Gabe Medina, and their dog Clifford lost their home to a fire in Mission Hills, San Diego. Thankfully, everyone is safe and unharmed. While it is unclear how the fire started at this time, Gabe was home and noticed that something wasn’t right but saw no signs of fire. He decided to step outside with Clifford and call SDGE, thinking it was a gas leak. In the process of contacting them, the house ignited. Within a few short, devastating minutes, all of their personal belongings were completely destroyed by fire, smoke, and heat damage.   Gianna and Gabe are currently staying at a local hotel nearby and are in the process of finding a long-term placement while they rebuild and recover.    Our boss, Amy Machado, and I felt we needed to offer support in any way we could and decided the easiest way to help them rebuild is by starting this GoFundMe. The grief process and facing the daunting task of starting over is a lot to bear. We hope to raise $10,000 to get them back on their feet.   We thank you in advance for your contributions and support. If you're unable to contribute financially, we ask that you please share this with your network.  Gianna and Gabe welcome your messages of love and support, but they may be slow to answer. Their friend Ren Enriquez can be reached if you have any immediate questions. She can be reached at (858) 750- 8517.  Also, f anyone has direct knowledge of a dog-friendly long-term placement; please contact Ren to pass along any information.
