Please help my best friend Gi get a fair shot at reclaiming his life in America.
At 5 AM on Friday, 11/15/19, ICE showed up to Gi’s house, detained him, and took him away from everything he has ever known. Gi moved to America when he was just 3 years old and has lived his entire life as an American. He grew up here, he went to school here, and his only friends and family are here. He now faces deportation to South Korea — a place he has never known. There he has no family, no home, nothing.
He is currently being held at ICA Farmville, a detention center in southern Virginia, without bond. Gi's family cannot afford to hire legal representation for him, so this fundraiser was made to help Gi pay for the proper representation that he deserves. Any amount that you can afford to donate would more than helpful. Please help bring my best friend home!!
My friends and I have started this campaign on the behalf of Gi's family, who speak little english and are unable to afford legal representation for Gi. We would greatly appreciate any assistance you might be able to provide with covering these unexpected legal costs.
