Help Rebuild Lives After Devastating Fire

When we turned down our street to go home, there were so many fire engines and hoses and firefighters only to realize it was our house they were at. The attic caught on fire. We're still waiting to learn about the cause. Essentially we lost everything. The floor has inches of brown/yellow water. The ceilings in the bathroom and kitchen are gone. The other ceilings have water dripping through the cracks. We lost everything. We need funds to rent a new place, necessities to daily life, replace our beloved belongings, and get back on our feet.

We're both numb and in disbelief. It's extremely traumatic.

During the fire a firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital. My cat Bean was in the building for over an hour and smells like smoke. Thankfully the upstairs neighbor was able to free my service dog. They need to see the vet to be checked for smoke damages.

We lost everything. We have 4 trash bags of stuff out of our entire apartment. We lost our clothes, shoes, books, furniture, hobbies, hiking and camping gear, plants, and everything.
