Waiting on disability

Hi, my name Shari, like everyone,my husband,Josh and I, have bit of a story, and are out of options at the moment. So our doctor suggested this platform.

 I will start with April 2021. We moved to Florida to be near our newest grandchild. My aunt- who had dementia soon joined us. At the time, we were providing full time care for her. Josh wound up with a lung infection and in the hospital for 2 surgeries and 3 week hospital stay. We had no insurance but we got through. 

On Dec 1, 2021 Josh started a new job At Baldwin Fairchild funeral homes, as a removal technician. A job he took pride in and loved. I as well, work in the funeral industry, providing support to grieving families. Such a satisfying job. 

In April of 2022, Josh had to have open heart surgery, he hadn’t worked long enough to qualify for short term disability benefits so he went back to work before he was able to fully recover from surgery. The next month  I had surgery to repair at 12 inch hernia and with neither of us working, Family stepped up and helped us out. We were getting back on our feet, but we needed a new car our was going to cost more to repair than we could justify, and now have a car payment- and high insurance payments. We were making progress at catching back up but Josh’s health continued to decline. Plans of having our own home by feb 2024 were squashed when in October 2023 Josh lost his job, due to things beyond our control.  I was employed full time now, and took over paying health insurance. I work 40+ hours a week and after taxes and health insurance our income is about $1000 a month. 

Josh was hospitalized again in January 2024,his bypass had collapsed and now needed stents to open his main artery. The doctors said no more work, and directed us to apply for disability, which we have- but takes months before it’s approved and we are able to receive those funds. 

With numerous doctor’s visits every week, having a $50 copay each visit, prescriptions- some which aren’t covered by insurance, gas and food, we can no longer  afford life. 

We do live with family, who have graciously kept us off the streets, and for that we are thankful  and I have faith God will provide- We just need a break through-please and thank you from the bottom of our hearts,if you can assist we would be forever grateful.
