My name is Chad Patterson and I serve as a part of a parent's group in Grayling called Project Graduation. We are working to provide a memorable experience for our class of 2017 seniors on their graduation night that does NOT include celebrating with drugs or alcohol. In the past, parents have taken the graduates to all-night lock ins at Sportsplexes, Amusement Parks, Arcades, Bowling Alleys, etc. Our goal is to include each graduate at no cost to them or their families. With 142 students in the class of 2017 we need to raise a lot of funds. The money will be used for their admission, food, going away gifts, and mementos that will remind them not only of their fabulous night but their entire high school careers.
The event will be in June but the sooner we can reach our goal the better idea we will have about what surprises we can have in store for this wonderful group of Seniors!
This means a lot to me personally knowing that most of our graduates, including my son and his friends, will be out doing something fun, memorable, and SAFE on their graduation night that will provide them with great memories rather than tragic consequences. Our school and community has seen and felt tragedy first hand and that is why Project Graduation is a great idea and a worthy cause!
We will be so grateful for any amount of donation you are able to make. If not for donations like yours, many of the graduates would not be able to afford to join in this wonderful end to their high school experience. As they look around on this final night with clear minds and clear eyes they will be able to reflect on friendships, memories, and their foundation at Grayling High School before they take that big leap forward to the rest of their lives!
