Help bring Ghosted! A New Musical to the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

Ghosted! is a genre-bending, hauntingly-hilarious ride through grief, memory, and the metaphysical. Henry, reeling from the sudden loss of his best friend Mia, joins a paranormal support group hoping to connect with her ghost. But someone—or something—has already made contact. Alongside Lydia, a self-taught exorcist with more heart than credentials, the unlikely crew set out to untangle the chaos of the living and the dead. Think Beetlejuice meets Next to Normal, with a splash of Rocky Horror campiness and a whole lot of soul.
Ghosted! is about
- The universal experience of death
- Healing and memory
- Reconnection
- The laughter and communal joy that comes from remembering
“I couldn’t stop smiling.” - Beckett Theatre audience attendee
Ghosted!'s Grave Beginnings

The musical’s creators, Makena Margolin (direction & lyrics) and Hayden Kline (score), met as production members through Trinity Musical Theatre’s AIMs nominated production of Carrie: The Musical (2024). Ghosted! was born as a way for Margolin to process her grief after suffering the loss of a best friend and grandparent. While creating the show, Margolin hoped Ghosted! could become a sanctuary for others, offering a space to laugh, reflect, and confront inner ghosts.
“My mother just passed. This made me feel seen.” - Beckett Theatre audience attendee
In February 2025, the show made history by premiering as the first original musical ever staged by Trinity’s Drama & Theatre Studies department at the Samuel Beckett Theatre.
"One of the best musicals I've seen...going again tonight" - Beckett Theatre audience attendee
Following its rave debut, Ghosted! struck a powerful chord with audiences, making it clear that this was a show too special to limit to Trinity College Dublin. With the opportunity to bring Ghosted! to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the creative team began to prepare for an even bigger stage — and share Ghosted!’s magic with others again.

Brought (back) to life for its Fringe Debut, Ghosted! will be the first production of the newly formed Helianthus Productions, created by longtime creative partners Margolin and Sonja Dighe (producer). Helianthus Productions is committed to creating theatre that values the collective experience, female-driven narratives, the exploration of dramaturgical form, and the reimagining of classic tales. Ghosted! fulfils each of Helianthus Productions' values and is the first of many exciting projects the company will debut.
