Hi, this is Dancing Tony [pictured on right*], the event producer of The Ghost of Uncle Joe's: A Halloween Fundraiser for, and at The Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery. Early Saturday [10/23] morning, our U-Haul truck, which was parked in the cemetery grounds was robbed and sound and lighting equipment owned by our event sponsors, The Cocoon - A Music Production Lab , JC Studios , and Double Down Lighting was stolen. We did not have separate equipment insurance, and the theft of these items we are liable for.
Thanks to the generosity and help from the Jersey City Cultural Affairs Department and the Historic Lowes Theater, and some sound production changes, we were able to produce Saturday's show without interruption and still managed to raise over $40,000 for the Historic Cemetery that weekend. Now, we are appealing for your support to raise money to replace the stolen equipment, which was:
- A Behringer X32 Digital Mixing Board [ in a soft case]
- one Shure 52A microphone, two Shure 58 microphones
- A Lighting Mixing Board, an IPad, and a wireless lighting controller
We will be hosting a Ghost of Uncle Joe's -Resurrection Party on Saturday, October 30th at CORGI Spirits in Jersey City. This event was already in the works before the theft, so we will be using some of the funds from the event to help raise money to replace the equipment, but we will also be selling merchandise at a special "get ONE, buy THREE price".
*Neil McAneny, co-creator of Ghost of Uncle Joe's is pictured next to me dressed as the Hamburgler, and he did not actually steal the gear!
NOTE: Any monies raised over the estimated value of the equipment will be used to help up purchase new stages pieces or other live music production equipment.
