Ghost Net Retrieval

Hi there!  My name is Natalie McIntosh.  I am the founder of Nautical Waters, a small non-profit organization passionate about making our oceans cleaner.

We want ensure that our marine life live in an environment free of discarded or lost fishing gear, nets, and rope. Ghost nets are fishing nets that get lost in our oceans daily. These nets have a major impact on our environment; killing and injuring many forms of marine life as well as destroying our coral reefs and limiting our supply of seafood.

With over 640,000 tonnes of ghost nets being retrieved every year from our oceans, we are focused on increasing awareness about this rarely discussed issue and hope to contribute to the retrieval of these nets in the future.

While we pursue our charitable non-profit status, we plan to work with like-minded partners to locate and retrieve discarded fishing nets from our oceans and find ways to re-purpose them with little environmental impact.  Your support will go a long way in making this dream a reality!
