Ghost Gallery Fundraiser!
Ghost Gallery is fighting to hold on to our brick & mortar location in Capitol Hill, Seattle. With necessary and responsible temporary closures in light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, many small businesses are struggling to pay rent, utilities, insurance payments and other financial obligations during this time. While we are staying optimistic that we'll be able to re-open our doors by early Summer, there are existing bills that still need to be paid! *Update: we have been able to open at a 15% capacity, which means a few people can visit at one time- that said we’re finding that the majority of our customers and friends are hesitant to venture out just yet (understandably). So from a realistic point of view, the combination of several factors that are out of our control has added to the financial strain for us. The funds that I am requesting here are to go towards six month’s worth of rent and utilities/operational expenses for the venue. #SmallBusinessRelief. Other sources of emergency funding are in progress, with no bites as of yet, but securing the immediate future is our top priority.
We're streamlining our website features to accommodate more inventory and online sales, in the hopes of providing some much needed income for our artists. Other tasks that we're currently doing/are working on include virtual exhibit tours of our upcoming shows, sharing live streams of artists at work in their homes/studios, Instagram shopping, co-promoting other small businesses in our community via the Capitol Hill Art Walk channel, & more.
We work with dozens of artists and designers from Seattle and across the US, featuring compelling visual art, incredible handmade jewelry & much more. Our physical space goes beyond a traditional gallery and is one based on community, acceptance, and mutual inspiration and respect. Your support means the world to me, and will help the gallery ride out this difficult time so that we can return to providing artistic opportunities for so many talented people!
