Manny Casillas's Service Dog Fund

Donation protected
Manny Casillas, from Hollister, California, has worked as the head mechanic in a winery for thirteen years. In August 19, 2014, after a hot morning of working on the presses,, Manny fell, broke his neck, and received a severe Traumatic Brain Injury.

That day, his world changed forever.

Since his accident, Manny has developed Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, and is often unable to leave the house and cannot work because his brain sends him fear signals even when no danger is present. Manny, a formerly outgoing and gregarious man who was known throughout the community, is racked by fear and pain and only rarely leaves his house.

WHAT CAN HELP: Manny will use a specially-trained PTSD service dog, Bear, one-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued, rehabilitated, and is now being trained for Manny. Bear will remind Manny to take his multiple daily medications and support (brace) him when he falls and cannot get up. Additionally, Bear will help give his handler the confidence to leave the house and integrate with his community.

Manny is fundraising half of the $33,000 cost of rescuing and training of a service dog (Pawsitivity is raising the other half) to help her with his long-term post-surgery symptoms. Please give today to help Manny in his recovery.

Manny's family has created this account to help raise funds for his service dog.  Any amount will help.  We thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.
