Raising funds for MND

Hi, my name is Stacie and I am running the Leeds Rob Burrow Marathon May 11th to raise funds for both the MND association and a specific family who are currently fighting the fight against MND. I will be splitting the funds 50:50 and if the charity funds can go to something specific within MND at the family's request then it will.

The family is a beautiful family of 4 made up of Craig, Ileisha, Jack & Oakley. Craig is one of my partners oldest friends from childhood and 18 months ago at 35 received the devastating news of a MND diagnosis and given 2-5 years. This has rocked the family and the friendship circle to the core for this to happen to anyone let alone an amazing person such as Craig.

That been said Craig is one tough guy with the most amazing mindset and is adamant to beat the disease and has done so much himself already to bang the drum and raise awareness. His strength, grit and determination is inspiring and although he has been recently medically retired he is still showing up for his wife, children, friends and himself!

I'm running my first marathon for him and his family who's boys are very similar ages to my 2 children and it could so easily have been us in that situation, I want to raise as much as I can to support Craig and his family whether that be to make amazing memories as time is so precious or just to help them with the bills and food shop since he can no longer work. And the rest of the money go towards the charity trying to find a cure and support those affected by MND.

I've been training for the last 5 months for this race which is in less than 3 weeks and having such a strong reason and why I know is going to carry me through and get me over that finish line. Where I will achieve my PB as it's my first haha and no doubt won't be my last
