Hi, my name is Dave and I am starting this fundraiser for my amazing son August. While we will never know why or how something like this could ever happen, as a family, we must stay strong, keep positive thoughts, continue to pray and just be here for each other during this difficult time. A few weeks ago, August went to the hospital for what we thought was a foot injury. After multiple tests and scans, it was determined that August has a large tumor on his spine. After undergoing major back surgery, the doctors advised they would be doing a biopsy. After nearly 3 weeks in the hospital, we learned a few days ago the tumor is malignant. Upon further testing August has been diagnosed with grade 4 / stage 4 Diffuse Midline Glioma. While we still don't know much about it, what we do know is we will continue to fight with everything it takes to make sure August has everything or anything he could possibly need or want. While August continues to excel at his physical and occupational therapy in order to come home, we are preparing to start his radiation therapy 5 days a week. As anyone can imagine, we are absolutely devastated, but we will remain strong and continue to be here for everything our little boy wants or needs. Unfortunately this is taking a toll on the family and it will be extremely difficult to continue to work full time and take care of Hunter and Autumn while traveling to doctor's appointments, therapy Etc. We never imagined having to ask for any type of help but the reality is we will most certainly need any help we can get August will be turning 12 in just under 2 weeks and we would love to give him the most special birthday he could ever imagine. We love our boy more than anything in the world and just want to keep him happy and comfortable while we fight through this. August is the strongest little man I know and we are certain he will beat this please help with anything you can manage and keep our family in your prayers.
