Seven months ago we received the surprising news that my youngest brother Daniel has Cancer. We were all shocked when we got this news!!!  Overall, my brother’s health has always been good. Not only did he have cancer but he was in the late stages of this form of cancer. He went through 3 months of aggressive chemo. His positive attitude, religious beliefs and and overwhelming support from family and friends have been so helpful through his treatments.  I remember walking with him at the hospital and him stopping to share a few words of encouragement "make sure you trot to avoid the clot" with others who were going through cancer treatment.  
After months of treatment, Daniel was told by his oncologist that they had to surgically remove several tumors.  It was an extensive surgery...pure choriocarcinoma. His recovery was quite amazing and he was feeling pretty good.  On October 15, 2014,  he met with the surgeon and he was informed the wonderful news of being "CANCER FREE".  Everyone was on cloud nine with happiness, excitement and overjoyed.   Later, that of day he received the news from his oncologist that his blood work returned showing the markers elevated.  The cancer is now in his lungs.   Although it was a moment of disbelief that what it was... a moment.  Daniel quickly became focused, returned to the mindset of determination, and began the next phase of treatment. 
We are so fortunate to have Dana Farber so close and the doctors are working very closely with doctors in Indiana that specialize in this type of cancer.  The duration of this treatment will last 4 1/2 months and doctors are optimistic about it being treatable. 
Daniel has the DETERMINATION to fight and remain positive through this next phase.  He appreciates all the support that he continues to receive and turns to his faith to keep moving forward with the right attitude.
