Persons with disabilities in low resource countries are often marginalized, and by default removed from meaninful participation in society because of their disabilities. Disability is however amenable to rehabilitation to return individuals to full participation in society.
Ghana and most of sub-Saharana African is devoid of comprehensive medical rehabilitation programs. To contribute solutions to this problem, The Ghana Medical Rehabilitation Mission has partner with the International Rehab Forum(http://www.rehabforum.org/

Volunteer clinicians from Good Shepherd Rehab Netwowrk, led by Dr. Asare Christian, a Ghanaian native, are planning a trip to Ghana this April/May 2017 to do hands on teaching. We are raising funds to support cost of travelling, purchase of equipment, and shipment of rehabilitation equipments. We believe that, throught hands education, we are able to reinforced lectures and training done via telemedicine approach, and allow the Ghanaian team to build on refinement of the program. The goal is help the team on ground develop this program to fit the local context and culture. This will drive sustainability, an important element in charity work, often neglected.
