On May 17th our daughter Jessica Miller woke up not feeling very good, her right side kinda tingling like she slept wrong. Minutes later her speech started sluring and she figured she better go get checked out. Being the stubborn woman she is, she drove herself in to the Hibbing hospital. Walking into the ER they immediately got her in and started treating it as a stroke. Her blood pressure was 265/195, yes she's lucky to be alive. Overnight things got worse where her whole right side was numb and very slurred speech. Hibbing is not set up for neurological patients so they did telemedical conference. With her to access the damage. She was able to get up and take a few steps. Woke up yesterday morning, with her right arm uptight to her chest and her hand clinched in a tight fist not being able to move either. After the teleconference yesterday the U of M ordered another cat scan after reviewing it, it was determined that the stroke area had gotten bigger and Hibbing was told to transfer Jess down to them and ordered an MRI. After reviewing the MRI they found more white spots on her brain. As of now Saturday 6/20 we are still waiting on a bed for her. She's got a long road ahead of her. Dustin has been Mr. Dad for the last 1 1/2 years, with Jess being the sole bread winner. We were told even after Jess is released from the hospital she is going to be moved to an inpatient physical therapy for an undetermined length of time. Anyone that knows Jess knows that she is always the fixer so this has been really hard on her. We are asking for your help so she can focus on getting better especially for her 3 year old Atreyu who is having a very hard time seeing momma like this. At 39 years old Jess is way too young to be dealing with this.
