The African Holistic Health Chapter of NY is expanding to include an additional floor that will be used as a Holistic Health Bed and Breakfast. We go from just a basement area to include first floor area of where we are currently housed. The space is in dire need of repairs. Our contractor estimated the needed repairs which certainly exceed our cash on hand. The African Holistic Health Bed & Breakfast will house tourists as well as our many wellness & community speakers who come to NYC. We are 10 minutes from JFK, not far from Resorts World Casino, Jamaica Shopping Malls & Movie Theatre, not far from Valley Stream and minutes from Manhattan via LIRR. On the corner of the space are Dollar Commuter vans and MTA Bus taking you straight to the subway. It is a very desired part of Queens within walking distance to laundry, dry cleaning & supermarkets.
Needed Repairs are:
Gutting of the bathroom which has some mold issues; sheetrocking bathroom from scratch is the only alternative; bathroom floor needs repair and tiles needed. Tub needs replacement as well as the shower and tub spouts; plumber needs to repair old pipes below bath tub creating lots of leaks below; bathroom air vent need repair or replacement as to eliminate the mold issue; New vanity to replace broken one that remains;
Space needs to be spacked & painted, Radiator angle valves needs replacement; living area radiator needs repair; space needs new frigerator & stove and kitchen cabinets and counter has to be replaced;
Space needs new carpeting; carbon & smoke detector needed and furniture and linen for guest of the BnB. We have local Licensed Chapter Members who are contractor who would love to this project.
We would love to have the space ready by November 1st but our latest deadline would be March 2016 for our Annual MeatOut Celebration.
This expansion fits so well into what we are already doing. This will accommodate the cost of venues for our events and lodging for our visiting speakers & tourists that want a NYC holistic visit. Now this is something we can provide in-house for the Chapter & community!
We are a small business & value giving back to the community with our holistic health services …Thanking our global community in advance for your support!!
