Aloha, My children’s father Brandon suffered a stroke on March 25 at 7:30 at night. This last week he has been at Hilo Medical Center receiving treatment. He was doing good up until Thursday March 31. He was complaining of his head hurting a lot, they did do a CT scan, the results showed he has swelling in his brain, at that point the doctors decided he needed to go to ICU where they could give him a medication called manitol ( helps to bring down the swelling.) but with doing that they would have to put him in a induced coma to monitor him. Since being on the medication there was no change in the swelling. April 1 his doctors have decided to send him to Oahu where he could receive more care. He landed on Oahu about 6 pm. Once he got to the hospital in Oahu, they did all there tests and scans to check on him, he’s doing good and is stable, in the next few days they plan to do a breathing trial with him, to make sure he can breath on his own, once he can do that they will remove his breathing tube and start the process of waking him up.
Brandon has 8 beautiful children, he was the sole income provider for them. With him not being able to work at this time, they are in a bind until they can receive any help from the state. Brandon is one not to ask for help, but if you know Brandon he is ready to help anyone at anytime. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
