Baby Oliver Alan Olsen
Tyler and Kristen Olsen welcomed baby Oliver Alan Olsen to this world on April 2, 2021. A beautiful 9lbs and 21 inches long. My little sister Kristen and her husband, Tyler, had a great pregnancy during a memorable CoVid year. They had their unfair share of ups and downs with the crazy economy but made it through together. Baby Oliver was due April 7th but decided to come just a tad early to celebrate Easter with us. The labor began routine but when it came time to push they found baby Oliver was posterior and Kristen amazingly, against all odds, was able to deliver naturally. Kristen experienced a delivery hemorrhage In which she lost over a liter of blood but luckily the doctors were aware and able to treat accordingly. Baby Oliver ingested his meconium, which is not uncommon in difficult deliveries, and has been fighting to get his respiratory functions back. He was intubated April 3rd. He is slowly getting more
function but has a possible pneumothorax and will likely be in the NICU this next week. The length of his recovery is unknown. They still have not been able to hold him. Kristen is likely to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow and the fairytale of bringing home the baby with them is not going to happen in the near future. With covid, these two rockstar parents have been left to navigate this new territory alone and now with hefty medical bills. They do have some medical insurance but not enough to cover what’s going to be extensive medical bills and assist with regular expenses since neither have family
leave. Let’s rally around these new parents in what should be a very happy and tiring moment ease some of their burden. Their faith and trust in Christ and his healing has remained unshaken, if you are able please remember them in your prayers and if able, assist them in their medical
journey. Venmo is also an appreciated option.
