Gerald has successfully eaten up another couple of his lives. Last night he fell from my 7th story balcony and in some sort of divine intervention I found him alive but in critical condition today. After rushing him to the hospital we found that he had several broken ribs, bruising in his lung, two pubic fractures, and a broken and displaced pelvis. Going forward he will have surgery to re-place his pelvis which will be supported by a plate a screws. I am telling you this because Gerald is not just another pet to me, he is my rock. I suffer from a severe anxiety disorder that makes certain things in my daily life more challenging. Gerald is my equivalent of a support animal. Coming home to him knowing that I have some sort of comfort and safety has allowed me to do things like move away from my family and move to my 1st choice college to pursue my dreams of vet school. Finding him alive and having the chance to save him made the choice to do surgery to fix his pelvis a no brainer. Although we are not out of the woods yet, Gerald has been given a second chance. The cost of his care is much more than I can afford by myself, so I ask you even if it is only a dollar or two to please consider a donation to help Gerald and I. All of the love and support is greatly appreciated
