Don protégé
Update:
As you know this fundraiser is for my very close friend Holly, and her 12 year old daughter Addison. Your generosity is amazing. It makes my heart smile. The 1st phase of treatment as expected was not easy. The steroids caused her face to swell and made her muscles weak. To the point where she needed help walking to and from the couch. The chemotherapy made her quite sick and she did lose her hair. At the end of the 1st phase, it was found that the cancer was still there. This means more testing and more treatments, however the doctors did begin phase 2, so that is positive. This phase should last till end of January beginning of February.
As I wrote before, the money will go to Holly and the girls. It will pay for medical bills as needed, household bills, clothing, food and whatever else Addison and her sister Riley need. Holly has not been able to work a single day since all this began and truly appreciates all your generosity. As you can imagine, this is not easy.
Prayers are also so very much needed and appreciated.
October 2022
A sweet, sassy spunky girl, Addison, just started 6th grade. She had a summer filled with family vacations, hanging out with friends, and playing in the pool. School started and with it came volleyball games and too much homework. She loved volleyball so much that she wanted to play all winter. One Monday, she went to school and suddenly didn't feel very well and got sick in the garbage can (much to her embarrassment). She didn't feel well throughout the week and felt "weak." Her mama brought her to the walk-in that Friday and they said it was a virus. The weekend did not bring any improvement. Her mom took her back on Monday, and after blood work, they found Leukemia. Imagine the shock and the fear. One week. Their whole world is changed.
The journey has only just started. This family is completely devastated; this is only one part of their story. You see, 7 years ago, her older sister, Riley, was diagnosed with brain cancer. Riley, a rock star, just started high school and is doing well. These girls and their momma have a long, long road ahead. With a projected 2.5 years of treatments ahead, they need as much help as we can give. The girls primarily live with their mother, who has not been able to work one day since this all started. Previously mom was working 2 part jobs; however, she does not qualify for FMLA due to those jobs being part-time. This means she is not being paid because she has not been able to work. Please join our fight. Your monetary donation will help this mother tremendously. It will help her be able to pay her household bills and help her with her medical bills. She needs to focus on helping her 12-year-old fight cancer, not worrying about money.

"This is my commandment: love each other just as I have loved you." John 15:12
May God bless each one of you.
