My best friend Tabatha and her family lost just about everything in a house fire on March 19.
We are eternally grateful that the family were not harmed during the fire as they were not home when it started.
The renters insurance company was through the rental company for their home and they have been told that the insurance was liability only so the cost of any and all clean up is on the family.
Today the Hamiltons were told by their leasing company that their lease is being terminated and they will no longer pay for their housing until the repairs are done.
They are now being forced to pay for their hotel
On their own and must find a new place to live asap as the hotel cost is not something they can keep up with for long.
Jeff is the asphalt business and has been out of work since last year due to weather. He does get unemployment during off seasons but it is nowhere near what is makes during season. Good news is he is scheduled to go back to work soon but even with that they have a lot of things that need purchased as well as fees to find a new place and moving costs.
This weekend her friends and family are going to be cleaning out the house and seeing what can be salvaged. They were able to secure a dumpster to help with the clean out. They have had to rent a storage unit to house things they can salvage as well as donations that they get for whatever place they are able to get.
Please give if you can and share if you can’t.
Every dollar helps right now.
While they have insurance, it will not cover the cost of replacing the items they lost or helping get the house cleaned out so repairs can begin. At this time they need clothes for her, her husband and their 4 year old. They will also be starting over in regards to any and all household items. All money raised will be used to get the house cleaned out and basically buy everything needed to get started again like furniture, clothes, kitchen items and any other needs they have during this transition including housing during repairs.
