Hello Compassionate People!
My name is Emma and I am desperately seeking to raise enough money for 1 month rent for a man and his dog in my small town who are currently unhoused in these freezing temperatures. This rent will ensure he and his dog have a safe place to stay so he can go to his newly acquired job. This is what he needs to be able to get back on his feet.

I understand homelessness can be a very touchy subject for some people, as we have all had our own individual experiences with the unhoused community. This man's story is long, detailed, and it is not my story to tell. What I can share is limited, but accurate:

-There is NO shelter, warming center, or Salvation Army in our town, and it has been COLD (temperatures have been feeling close to -30C and colder at night for the past few weeks and they do not looking to be getting much warmer in the foreseeable future)
-He is not an addict.
-He is a very hard worker and has proven to me and others to be reliable.
-He just got a job with a local company helping with snow removal (with potential for full time employment come spring)
-He has secured a place to stay, but is ONLY lacking the funds to pay for the first month.
-His dog NEEDS a place to stay while he is at work. He does not have the dog's vaccination records, therefore any boarding facility or daycare is not an option.
-He has a life long medical condition which makes him more prone to cold temperature health complications.
-He has been welcomed by a local business to stay warm inside during business hours with his dog, and they also give him meals. He shovels outside the business (and others) on his own initiative, proving his work ethic.
-He would never ask for money himself. He wants to do this on his own, but it's nearly impossible and he has proven to me that he deserves a chance.
-His dog is very well cared for, very well trained, and absolutely in love with his dad. There is no place this dog would rather be in the world.

I have seen this man almost every single day for the past couple months. I can't just watch someone try so hard just to stay afloat and do nothing. He would never ask for help himself, so without exploiting him, I have to at least TRY to help him.

If you saw this man and his dog and would offer to buy him a coffee or a meal, please consider donating those couple dollars to this fund so we can get him in a warm bed.

Thank you so much, I truly appreciate your consideration.
