Hello, my name is Darren. I'm trying to raise funds for a new Mobility Scooter for my Dad.

He's 76 years old and has very poor mobility. In February of 2025, he had a very bad fall at home, which unfortunately fractured his hip, after having the other hip replaced (to little effect) a couple of years ago.

After a month in hospital, we were lucky enough to be given a Mobility Scooter, however, it was 10 years old, and broke down beyond repair shortly after.

Without his Scooter, he's unable to leave the house.

In his younger days, my Dad served 11 years on Submarines, followed by several more years "up top" on Aircraft Carriers. He then went on to work his entire life. After all that, and despite never claiming a penny in benefits, his entire life, he's not entitled to any help from the government, which may have meant access to a Mobility Scooter.

My Mum, Dad's wife of 52 years passed away, 18months ago, from aggressive, Pancreatic Cancer, so hes taking a beating with everything of late.

I'm really hoping to be able to raise the funds to afford a new, reliable Mobility Scooter, which would mean my Dad can retain some of his independence, enabling him to get out of the house, pick up some shopping, and get to OAP coffee mornings ect.

He would dislike that I'm doing this, but if its successful, I know that he'd be eternally grateful.
