Our 5 year-old granddaughter Emma became ill this past Monday morning shortly after our daughter dropped her off at her ABA therapy. She deals with autism and has been in therapy close to a year now. Her therapist called my daughter to come pick her up because she was throwing up.
Later that evening, my daughter took her to the emergency room at the children's hospital because she had a fever, was still throwing up and her vomit was almost black in color, so she knew something was wrong.
When she got to emergency room, Emma's blood sugar was 54 which is dangerously low. She was dehydrated because she wouldn't drink anything or eat all day so they put her on IV fluids and admitted her.
Fast forward to now, and she has been in the hospital for five days. Thankfully she is doing better, and the doctors know the cause of her serious symptoms, but are also waiting for the rest of her lab results to come back. There is a challenging road ahead of her but we know that God is faithful and is holding her in His Hands!
Thankfully Emma has medical insurance, however, there are significant out of pocket medical expenses that need to be paid for and Emma will have some medical expenses moving forward as well.
With my daughter having to spend the week in the hospital with Emma and being unable to work this week/weekend, it has put an added strain on her finances so I decided to set up this fundraiser for them.
If you are able to contribute any amount to help with her medical expenses, it would be greatly and deeply appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Connell aka
