Alexander's Journey

Donation protected
After 6 months of misdiagnosis Alexander Goodwin was eventually correctly diagnosed with a rare bone and soft tissue cancer in June 2016. Told by the NHS that Alex couldn't be saved and he wouldn't survive beyond his 10th birthday we raised funds to get him to Kansas City in the United States for pioneering cancer surgery and treatment. Alex's life was saved. His entire femur was removed and his hip and tibia reconstructed- he now has a state of the art metal expandable prosthetic femur and requires brutal physiotherapy and psychological support. We need to travel to Kansas City every four months at our own expense to have the vital leg extensions and checks until he reaches skeletal maturity. That's about $15,000 per year for the next 5 years. We cannot manage it alone and rely on the kindness of Alex's supporters. This fundraiser will help secure our trips and treatment (in the U.K. and the U.S.) for the whole year!
