Support For Sophie

Hello, my name is Emily and my 10 year old beagle Sophie is going into surgery on Wednesday 8/23 for a possible sarcoma mass. Last week Sophie started vomiting. I had given her a chicken neck and her vet suspected that maybe a piece of the bone was stuck in her stomach. She required an emergency ultrasound that revealed that her stomach and pancreas were fine, but they accidentally found a mass in her groin area. They performed a fine needle aspiration that revealed possible sarcoma cells. We are shocked and devastated at this possibility. Sophie met with a surgeon and will be getting a CT scan and a surgery with biopsy on Wednesday 8/23. The biopsy takes one week to be analyzed and then we will find out for sure what is going on. Sophie has not had it easy. In 2020 she was diagnosed with a back condition called IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). Last year she needed 2 emergency spinal surgeries that cost over $20,000 in total. She then needed a third spinal surgery last September that is supposed to prevent the discs from any further herniation. She required water therapy twice a week to learn to walk again, and has been such a brave little girl. She has since been recovering and doing an awesome job. She now goes to therapy every 2 weeks to keep her back muscles strong and to get laser therapy to keep pain levels down. Between last years surgeries, the follow ups, the physical therapy and now the pending surgery on Wednesday, I am struggling to keep up. Any amount, big or small, would be extremely appreciated. Even a share would help us out so much. The $9,000 goal goes towards Sophie's emergency ultrasound, the consult with the surgeon, the emergency blood test, and the CT scan and surgery. We had an Etsy account called SupportForSophie where Sophie and I made art together to raise funds for her physical therapy and other vet bills, but I had to temporarily close it because of her continued vomiting. I hope that Sophie improves and we can get back to doing art, but until then I am making this GoFundMe to try to raise money for her.
