Michael's Road to Recovery
Hello friends and family, I really appreciate your time & attention to support my cause!
Almost 4 months ago, I was forced to step away from building drums & working (my only source of income) due to an abnormal spine injury. It has been extremely challenging to treat this regularly when my income has diminished entirely from the continuous extreme pain I'm in. I have been holding on best I can, taking alternate work and job attempts that don't require me to lift steel instruments or weld, even trying to sell my personal beloved handpan so I can pay medical costs. As of 6/19/19, the pain flared so acutely that I was incapable of walking without Lauren completely assisting me and on 6/21 I went into the E.R. with the pain at an all-time high.
An emergency MRI revealed that I have herniated and bulging disks (L4-L5 & L6-S1) of my lumbar and sacral region and sadly a complex spinal curvature that is aggravating the constant pain. That condition is Kyphosis & Scoliosis with somatic dysfunction of all regions (cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral) I also suffered a cervical subluxation that has advancing degeneration. Without aggressive treatment my spine will continue to deteriorate beyond what I can manage, and right now it prevents me from my own basic abilities like raising myself up, walking, or lifting.
After tons of time, discussions, tears, weighing my options, and recommendations/referrals by my Primary Care Physician, my needs are now very clear and urgent. The amount of this fundraiser equals what I need to cover all medical bills, meds & supplies, and secure my basic rent so I can be treated, rehabilitated and rested these next critical 2 months. I can avoid surgery if I start CONSISTENT treatment so reaching my target funding is top priority and for this I reach out to collectivecommunity and humbly request your help! This is ongoing and means the world to me... I will heal and I will regain my strength!
