Sarah's breast cancer treatment

Donation protected
In early July 2019, Sarah Welder Adams was diagnosed with stage I invasive lobular carcinoma, otherwise known as the Big C. ILC is the second-most common form of breast cancer, affecting about 10 percent of people with invasive breast cancer.

Due to the way that it grows, it can be difficult to detect ILC in its early stages, but thanks to an eagle-eyed radiologist, they were able to identify Sarah’s tumor early.

Because ILC spreads, and given that there is a history of breast cancer in Sarah’s family, she will undergo a double mastectomy in late August to significantly decrease the likelihood of cancer returning in the future. Plans for her follow-up care, including radiation and chemotherapy, are still being made.

Anyone who knows Sarah knows that she's a devoted mom, wife and friend, and that she always puts others' needs before her own. When she broke the news to her daughters, she quickly followed with a chipper "Don't worry! I’ll be fine. I don't want this to ruin our weekend!"

Asking for help can be hard, but with upfront costs, out-of-pocket expenses and weeks out of work, expenses for her treatment are already piling up.

Any donations made will help lighten the burden on this wonderful woman who makes everything she touches more beautiful. Sarah, Peter and her entire family would deeply appreciate any support you can provide.

xoxo, the Adams family
