Michelle Lambdin is a beautiful, intelligent, loving, giving, kind, strong, influential, hard working, fun, faith filled 29 year old young lady.
As an 11 year old girl she was unfortunately diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...a life altering disease with many possible complications. Recently her kidneys experienced a rapid decline and on May 8th she was diagnosed with kidney failure. She was swiftly put on dialysis and is now going forward to pursue a kidney transplant as soon as possible.
During these upcoming months Michelle and our family will have many needs, with prayer for strength, hope & healing being the most important. As you can imagine...there are and will be great financial needs too. The cost of travel - airfare, Uber’s, subways, food, accommodations etc.. (she lives in New York and we are in California) as family members go to assist her. Michelle will be unable to work for many months pre & post surgery and though she will likely qualify for disability, after looking at her expenses she will be short $500+ each month plus the additional expense of a special diet. In addition several family members will have to take off from work to be in New York with her; as a donor (believing one of her sisters will be a perfect match) and to help them during recovery. Of course then there are the additional medical expenses not covered by insurance (which she is still paying $10k+ for medical from last spring when she was hospitalized for DKA)
