Support for My Baby Boy Remi

Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

My sweet baby boy, Remi, was born far too early at just 24 weeks and 4 days. What started as complications and infection turned into sudden preterm labour, and before I could even understand what was happening, he was here.

He weighed just 860 grams, so tiny—my little “Bug.”

When he was born, he let out five cries, and in that moment I knew how strong he is. Even now, he’s fighting so hard—he’s already trying to breathe on less support from the ventilator and showing everyone just how determined he is.

Right now, Remi is in the NICU at BC Children’s Hospital, fighting every single day. Watching your baby struggle to breathe, grow, and survive is something no parent is ever prepared for. I would give anything to take his place and carry this for him.

All I want is to be by his side—to talk to him, comfort him, and be there for every moment of this fight. But being away from home and staying close to the hospital comes with many challenges, and right now my entire focus is on Remi and being there for him.

I’m asking for support to help me stay close to my baby during this critical time, including:

• Travel and transportation

• Accommodation near the hospital

• Food and daily expenses while I remain by Remi’s side
