Help my mom get spinal surgery

Hi, my name is Eri. This is my mom. She is in a very dangerous position where she has lost a significant amount of spinal fluid from a leak in her spine. This leak is rapid and has been ongoing unknowingly to her doctors for months until recently. She cannot have a blood patch. So, she is forced to go into surgery to get this repaired.

This is a very specialized surgery that is only done by a small number of doctors, so we need to travel to California on short notice to get surgery from Dr. Wouter Schievink on January 25th.

This surgery is imperative to her survival, not optional. But insurance does not cover travel expenses at all. Since she won't be able to care for herself after surgery, I need to travel with her to take care of her (feeding, toilet, walking, etc) especially on the 6-hour plane ride back to her home in New Jersey.

I hate asking for help, but this is a large cost that has been unexpected & sudden. My mom is disabled, but disability does not cover her bills, let alone this surgery. Our family has been struggling financially from all the cutbacks we've taken from needing to care for her the past year with her medical issues.

This will help cover travel costs for the plane ticket and hotel. We have to stay there for a week. Initial appointment, the surgery itself, 3 days of recovery in the hospital, and then a few days after to make sure there are no complications before sending her home. I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible, but the minimum with hotel & tickets alone is more than any of us can afford.
