I will assume you already know my journey of the past 5 or so years with depression and mental health issues.

I now find myself in an amazing yet difficult situation.  I have found my dream job; I am making a difference in peoples lives on a level I have never experienced before.

This past July I became certified in Mental Health First Aid.  In January I was hired by Mental Health America San Diego as their LGBTQ Community Outreach Coordinator. On February 3rd I became a Suicide Prevention Trainer.

Never in a million years did I think this would happen for me.  My dreams are coming true.  But there’s a hitch.  One of the conditions of my employment is that I have a car for my job, and I have a deadline for that to happen fast approaching.    The duties required of me can take me anywhere from the northern border of San Diego to the southern border, and as east as the county line.

 I have been putting some money aside already, but to get a reliable car its going to take longer than I anticipated.  Unfortunatley I was only given 2 months to get a car and insurance or I could lose this job. 
I am sure that I can get a very SLIGHT extension from my employer to have a car with full insurance that is required by the county.

So here I am seeking some assistance.  I’m not picky, I’m looking for a used car, it doesnt have to be the most beautiful car or even attractive.  I just need something dependable  that can get me from one end of the county to the other, possibly all in one day.  I thought about leasing a car but after closing my business my credit sort of took a dump. So the likeliness of that is slim.  Maybe you have a car you aren’t using?  A “loaner car” would work for a few months until I can negotiate purchasing my own car.

 All I need to do is prove that I am insured for an automobile that I am driving, it doesn’t have to be in my name.

Perhaps you are in a position to make a donation to my automobile fund?    If your able to give me a personal loan, with a monthly repayment plan I can reach my goal even faster.  I’m making a nice salary with all the great benefits of working for the county, so repayment wouldn’t be an issue.

I love this job, I want to keep it, I truly believe our community would benefit by me advocating for our mental health needs.  I can provide suicide stats and mental illness stats as much as you would like.  The truth is, one person in San Diego County dies by suicide every day!
