Getting together to help Wayne
Donation protected
As most, if not all of you know, Wayne suffered a stroke earlier this month and has been thankfully under the careful watch and care of some great doctors and nurses helping him through all of this. However because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Wayne's family has not even been able to spend time with him and sit with him in the hospital. I just can't imagine the pain and stress this has caused everyone, especially his wife and children, and Wayne of course, as I'm sure they just want to all be right there together by his side!
Matthew, one of our co-workers, got a very brief update from Wayne last week where we got some great news that Wayne is doing well - and even has a beard now!! :-) There was even talk of discharging Wayne soon, allowing him to get therapy sessions during the day and be home resting and recovering with his family in the evenings!
We've heard from many of you on how can you help and show your support to Wayne and his family during this incredibly tough time.
I know we all have our own struggles, but the one thing I can say since joining Sonim almost 3 years ago, is that when times get tough, we rally and we rally together HARD to get us to brighter days! And I can personally attest that Wayne as been on the front lines of MANY instances where Sonim needed to fix something - or several somethings - for a customer and without his tenacity, guidance and action, the issue(s) would have drug on. He's been here at Sonim for almost 7 years and I just can't count all the great work he has accomplished for our customers. Wayne has been absolutely instrumental in so many of our technical responses and has saved - and earned - a tremendous amount of business for Sonim with his brilliance and out of the box thinking. He ALWAYS strives to get the job done, doesn't pay attention to a time clock, travels to visit customers on little to no notice (I personally think he has a full suitcase in his trunk at all times!) and truly embodies quality and the need to check, re-check and re-check again, before we send a solution off to a customer. Finally, I can speak for my team when I can attest to his patience and teaching ability, as he has been incredibly valuable in helping the SonimCare and our Customer Experience Center team work through so many training sessions and troubleshooting instances in the field at all hours of the day (and night - and weekends)!
And as if the battle ends there...... it doesn't. As much as we miss Wayne, once he gets discharged, we know home is where he needs to be - and should be. In addition to this battle Wayne is fighting, his family is also working through other struggles at home and I really would like to ask each of you to offer any support you are able to and please, be as generous as you are able to be - ANY amount will be so very much appreciated! The money collected here will be transferred to Wayne's wife when we can connect with her. Let's keep this open until the end of May so we can raise as much as we can.
Finally, please feel free to share this with others so we can expand the reach and help Wayne and his family as much as possible! I'm going to share this with some of our partners he has worked with over the years, but please....let's spread the word!
Wayne is a fighter and let's be there by his side in spirit to support him and relieve some of the financial pressures that Wayne and his family will be facing! A big personal THANK YOU to everyone who is sending prayers or making a contribution - or BOTH!
Every little action truly helps....Please keep Wayne and his family in your prayers.
